About Us

Mt. Vernon School offers a variety of learning and engaging opportunities. We offer English-only classrooms as well as Alternative Bilingual Education (ABE) for students interested in developing the Spanish language and transfer skills into the English language. We assess every student on an ongoing basis, including upon arrival to our school to ensure targeted instruction for language arts, math, and English development. We offer such Intensive instruction before and after school and once a month on Saturday. We support students various needs through intensive instruction, intervention, and English Language Development (ESL) time frames. The CAPS (Creative Before- and Afterschool Programs for Success) program supports students with homework, sports, nutrition, and enrichment opportunities inclusive of the arts and technology. Our programs are all research and qualitative based. At Mt. Vernon, we believe ALL
